Background: My name is Graham. I have a background in pharmaceutical science, 15 years’ experience as a senior operations manager and 15 years’ experience as a Director in PwC (PriceWaterhouseCoopers) – specialising in organisational design management consulting. During my time in PwC I developed their global OD Methodology and designed and delivered training for their OD practitioners in the UK, across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and America. I left PwC in 2016 and I am now the Founder and Owner of Organisational Design Ltd.
Vision: Fifteen years ago, I invested time in working out what I wanted my ‘work’ to be about. I realised that throughout my adult life, all the best days had involved: helping, supporting, coaching and advising people. That’s what I am good at and what I enjoy. I realised that being a Management Consultant was the perfect job for me. However, I am also a big believer in work-life balance. I have worked part-time for the last 15 years and now aim to work less than 50 days a year. The rest of the time I focus on other important things: I’m Thom’s and Lucy's Grandad; I do volunteer work; I love being out in the fresh air; I like to read, research and relax; and I am a Non-Executive Director (Board Member) for the Department of Justice.
Experience: After over 20 years (18,000 hours) and having delivered more than 100 OD projects, I now want to share my skills, knowledge and experience with as many people as possible. I could write a book – but as you can tell, writing is not really my skillset! Ideally, I want to focus my work on training others.
Aim: My objective is to travel the world, sharing my OD skills, knowledge and experience. In the last year, I have had the pleasure of delivering OD training in many interesting places in the UK; Europe; Middle East and in the Asia-Pacific region. After the work has been delivered, I then like to explore the local area – so, partnering with me actually helps your local economy too (win-win-win)!
Partners: I regularly have the privilege of working with two of the very best brains in modern organisational design theory and practice: Andrew Campbell and Dr Naomi Stanford – both of whom I have learned so much from. Personally, I want to focus on what I’m good at: delivery. So, I partner with great organisations that do all the business development, sales and marketing, and administration aspects of securing this type of work – e.g., Hult-Ashridge, Caliber Consulting, Core Leadership, GLC and GPS. If you are interested in working with me, please get in touch or find out more about what I do using the links of this website.
Learn More: I believe that organisational design should be strategy-led. Strategic Organisational Design is about aligning your organisation’s: structure; roles, responsibilities and relationships; governance arrangements; KPIs; policies, procedures and processes; and systems and infrastructure with your strategic objectives and plans.
Added Value: Most organisational design practitioners use a similar approach to delivering OD projects. I believe the added value that I bring comes from the skills, knowledge, focus and experience I have in:
Get in Touch: If you would like to explore this further and understand how it differs from other approaches to organisational design (e.g., capability, process or data-led organisational design); or how Organisational Design differs from Organisational Development or Operating Model work – please get in touch.
